But, $15,000.00 was spent on this field last year. The grass seed laid down there cost considerable money. Like many things considered here tonight something was established and nothing was established to take care of it with. This field was some- thing greatly needed by our youth. It keeps theca off the streets and out of trouble. bast year we had an official Babe Ruth 'Team. They won seven out of 14 games. If there is no watering of this field your seeding is lost. Garland® I agree, , I also disagree with the continuing practice of spending the town' s money for things that have not been properly explored, such as specifications, lowest bids, etc. , and then asking for your money. Instead of doing things in the usual half-baked fashion,there are five basic orderly steps that should be pursued, and if they were done along the lines of good business practice we wouldn't be faced with this. We did not recommend the Article because we don't believe that this is enough. This amount will not cover the cost, we don' t think, of pipes, sprinklers , a well, etc. . . We certainly don't think that 5,000.00 is enough, but unless someone tells us otherwise, of course, we will have no way of knowing. If someone tells us we can do the - b complete for $5,000.00, I will withdraw my motion. s Moderator: The motion was trade and seconded that this Article e indefinitely postponed.
