;9 9� Page 27 . Annual Towm Meeting - March 6th, 1973 ' F �3 Article 62 Continued: Homeyer: We have already spent $25,000.00 for Assessors Maps. It was said that the town would pick up enough money to pay for it. There are records of land court proceedings in the case of Mashpee Land all the time . I know it is mostly land of owners unknown. I think we should put a stop to it. Town Attorney: There was a question about the money being included in an amendment to this Article. If you have no challenge, you have no problem. However, ten tax-payers can get together and sue the Town to prevent you from using this money, if they care to do so. And they could stop us. I don't think that ten will sue . However, this Article is certainly sufficently, unclear. Gordon: I think it should be brought in Special Town Meeting. This is similar to another Article regarding property. Yet no money has been appropriated for the extra clerical help etc. Ehrisman: This is merely postponing something which ought to have been done a long time ago. Barnstable made this research and picked up land valued upward to--two million dollars . Parcels had been listed as owners unknown. This shouldn't be postponed. I talked to you about this, Garland, when you made your pitch for re-election at the New Seabury Country Club. Moderator: Electioneering is out. Homeyer: I go along with Green. Get with your Town Counsel and have this thing ready for the mext Town Meeting. Woman From the Audience : Isn't there a motion before us? Moderator: Yes, but not in the proper form. . Woman: Then I make a motion that Article 62 be tabled. This was seconded. Moderator: Your motion was in improper form because no choice has been made whether it Was to be raised and appropriated or taken from available funds , therefore your amended Article and motion was not right.
