• UPDATE: Ch.172 Bylaw Review Subcommittee-Mitigation Regulation 12
Mr. Sweet said he would volunteer to be on the Subcommittee.
• UPDATE: Red Brook Road Culvert
Per a Zoom meeting today, there will be another meeting tomorrow with the Division of
Ecological Restoration because they have a grant program coming up. We will discuss
if this project would be a good candidate for this program.
The Town will take over the water control structure. This will ensure it's compliant and
inspected every 5 years as it's considered a significant hazard.
• UPDATE: Childs River Restoration
Garner Bog is almost finished, everything has gone smoothly.
• UPDATE: Upper Quashnet Restoration
Still in the data collection phase, nothing new to report.
• UPDATE: Chopchaque Bogs Restoration
Agent said there's potentially good news from the Army Corps of Engineers, through the
In Lieu Fee program they have tentatively agreed to fund $25K for planning and planting.
• ADDITIONAL TOPICS:
(This space is reserved for topics that the Chairman did not reasonably anticipate would
be discussed).
Mr. Smith told the group that he had been contacted twice on his personal phone by
Matthew Haney regarding Gooseberry Island. Both times he declined to discuss this and
reported that to the Conservation Department. He encourages any other members that
are contacted like this to do the same and report it to the Commission and Conservation
Department. Agent agreed and said that this is inappropriate and they should be directed
to use the communication channels through the relevant departments at Town Hall.
ADJOURNMENT:
Motion: Mr. Sweet moved to adjourn, Mr. Colombo seconded.
Vote: 5-0 unanimous
Meeting adjourned at 7:13pm.
Respectf 11 sub fitted,
tr* E
Board See-etary
