Town Seal Committee Minutes February 25, 2021 *APPROVED* March 11, 2021 The Committee moved on to the distribution of the survey and the Committee generally felt that the survey should be mostly distributed via electronic means with some paper copies being available at various Town buildings such as the Library,Town Hall and the Council on Aging. The publication of an article about the survey and possibly the printing of the survey within the article in the Enterprise. Also, survey monkey and constant contact were mentioned as means to get the word out. Mr. Lehrer said it was important to give the general public"license" to be a part of the creation of a new seal. Mr. Weeden said it is important to depict the history and have residents give a history of their vision of the Town. Ms. DeBoer added that the process needs to be efficient. It was agreed that Kathleen Mahoney would work on a press release. Motion made by Mr. Lehrer to have Chair David Weeden review and authorize the press release. Motion seconded by Ms. DeBoer VOTE: Unanimous. 6-0(1 absent) Roll Call Vote: Mr. D.Weeden,yes Ms.Avant-Tavares,absent Ms. Cook,yes Ms. DeBoer,yes Mr. Lehrer,yes Ms. Mahoney,yes Mr. B. Weeden,yes Opposed, none Mr. Lehrer will do a fillable PDF form to possibly have emailed and be posted on the website. Ms. Cook said that she could post it on the website and the Town of Mashpee Facebook page. It was also suggested that it be put on the electronic sign on Route 151 by Mashpee High School. Ms. DeBoer offered to do a "Google Form". The Committee felt that this should be moved along concurrently with the solicitation of a designer for the Town Seal. Discussion of Scope of Services for a Graphic Design Consultant The Committee discussed the "Draft" of a Scope of Services for the consultant that was distributed prior to the meeting as appears below: Town of Mashpee Redesign of the Town Seal Design Services Scope of Work General Description of Services Requested: Provide design services for creating a new Town Seal for the Town of Mashpee. 1.) This Scope of Work is intended to complete the design of a replacement of the current Town of Mashpee seal that reflects the rich history of Mashpee, as well as, depicting the many natural and man-made assets of the Town.
