Finance Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> February 4, 2021 <br /> NEW BUSINESS - <br /> Presentation from Town Manager: (continued) <br /> As a result of a recommendation from Finance Committee member Gregory McKelvey to review <br /> outside facilities,the $4.4 million expenditure to construct a new DNR facility was considerably <br /> paired down to $850,000. The viable and alternative option would allow for the purchase of <br /> (2) commercial bays located side-by-side in the Industrial Park to serve the needs of the DNR <br /> and be utilized for additional office space by the Shellfish Department and Harbormaster. The <br /> project will require a vote of Town Meeting. To readily move forward with this project the <br /> Town Manager has received unanimous support from the CIP and the Select Board. To access <br /> funds before the onset of spring,the article would be placed on the Special Town Meeting <br /> warrant. The remainder of the FY22 CIP appropriation of capital projects will be placed on the <br /> Annual Town Meeting warrant in normal course after approval of the Omnibus Budget. <br /> Motion made by Mr.Miller to endorse the DNR building at a cost of$850,000 for <br /> placement on the Special Town Meeting warrant as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Mr. Richardson. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 7-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Mr. Pettengill,yes Mr. McKelvey,yes Mrs. Furbush,yes Mr. Richardson,yes <br /> Mr. Miller, yes Mr. Brady,yes Mr. Carrier, yes Opposed, none <br /> Appreciation was given to Mr. McKelvey for his valuable recommendation. Town Manager <br /> Rodney C. Collins indicated that although the purchase would require a vote of Town Meeting in <br /> the interim he would address all of the legal necessities as required to retain the most favorable <br /> cost option for the purchase. <br /> Update on Joint Meeting with Select Board: <br /> Joint Meeting,Monday,February 8, 2021 —6:30 p.m. to review the budget and the matter of <br /> wastewater. <br />
