6. Mashpee Community Television updates—Bill Nay
Bill Nay and Chris Ball spoke about the upcoming Town Meeting in May. It will be held outdoors with live
feed and live sound and they believe it will run smoothly, none of the issues from last year's spring
meeting. Chris Ball said the same audio team that worked the POPS is doing the Town Meeting. They are
experienced and he is very confident this will be a good meeting.
Bill Nay also mentioned they purchased a new program server at the school, so we can look forward to a lot
of new stuff on Channel 22.
7. Chris Nelson report on discussions with Falmouth
Chris Nelson has been in close contact with the Town of Falmouth and EDIC. He presented the
information from the study EDIC conducted regarding getting fiber to all of Falmouth. They are in the early
stages of a campaign to see if other towns would want to join and help share the costs. Chris said that with
the sewer being installed, it's a great time for us to keep fiber installation costs down as we can get holes in
the ground during the sewer installation. He strongly suggested we partner with Falmouth sooner, rather
than later. Dan Riley said that is a better conversation to have at a future meeting, perhaps during one of the
Comcast contract discussions. Bill Nay suggested to present it to the Board of Selectmen at their meeting,
Chris Nelson said he would bring in someone from EDIC to present with him to the Selectmen.
8.
