5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> April 26, 2021 <br /> Discussion and Approval of Ad Hoc Committee for Prevention of Violence Against Women& Children: <br /> At the last meeting,the Board of Selectmen directed the Town Manager with the task of recommending an <br /> Ad Hoc Committee for the Prevention of Violence Against Women & Children. Town Manager Rodney C. <br /> Collins presented a balanced approach of candidates to serve this purpose to develop strategies in the form of <br /> a report with specific objectives to facilitate coordination and integrated response. <br /> Murylo Batista a public health researcher and resident of the Town of Mashpee was noted to be supportive of <br /> the Town.Manager's approach to the fon-nation of this committee. The makeup of the committee is <br /> recommended as follows; <br /> Mashpee Police Department: Sergeant Meredith Our(Chairwoman) <br /> Assistant District Attorney: Michael Patterson <br /> Domestic Violence victim Specialist: Tara Carline <br /> Council on Aging Director: Lynne Waterman <br /> Human Services Director: Gail Wilson <br /> Mashpee Wampanoag Representative: Edwina Johnson Graham (or designee) <br /> Mashpee Wampanoag Police Chief Kevin Frye <br /> Mashpee Resident: Murylo Batista <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to appoint the above recommended candidates to the Prevention <br /> of Violence Against Women & Children Committee as outlined by the Town Manager. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman, yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb, yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> Discussion and Approval of the following Special Event and Temporaty Sign Pen-nit Applications: <br /> Annual Memorial Da y CeremoLiy: May 31, 2021 -Mashpee Communfty Park: Mary Bradbuly: <br /> The Board of Selectmen reviewed the Special Events Application of the Recreation Department submitted by <br /> Mary K. Bradbury,Director to schedule the Annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday,May 31, 2021 <br /> from 9:30 a,m. to 11:00 a,m. at the Mashpee Community Park gazebo and Veteran's Memorial Garden, The <br /> event is open to the public, and it is expected that 65 persons would attend. <br /> Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to approve the Special Events Application of the Recreation <br /> Department to schedule the Memorial Day Ceremony on May 31, 2021 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman, yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Weeden, yes Opposed, none <br />
