8 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> July 26, 2021 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Discussion and Action on Draft#1 of the October 18 2021 Annual Town Meeting Warrant: <br /> The Board of Selectmen conducted a brief review of Draft#1 of the Annual Town Meeting warrant. It was <br /> agreed that any comments and questions may be submitted to the Town Manager and/or Assistant Town <br /> Manager. <br /> The October 18, 2021 warrant contains 26 articles. Sixteen articles are submitted by various Departments <br /> and/or Boards. Ten articles are submitted by petition. <br /> Cares Act Funds—To cover expenses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After all expenses and liabilities <br /> have been paid, any remaining balance of this appropriation will revert back to the general fund. <br /> It was recommended the Board consider directing the remaining balance of funds to wastewater. <br /> To Fund a Diagnostic Study of Mashpee Wakeby Pond- $350,000 (estimate) <br /> To Fund a Study of Santuit Pond- $14,000 (may be removed based on grant award) <br /> Petition Articles—Recommendation to meet with Town Planner to clarify petition articles, map to be <br /> included in review. <br /> LIAISON REPORTS <br /> Wastewater Planning: With the new Town Engineer,the Town of Mashpee and its Sewer Commission are <br /> moving forward with planned operations in an effective and efficient manner. <br /> Town Seal Committee: The Town Seal Committee is finalizing its narrative expecting to present its findings <br /> at a future public hearing to gain community input. <br /> Shellfish Propagation: It was recommended the DNR Director be consulted regarding shellfish propagation. <br /> TOWN MANAGER UPDATES <br /> Pond Monitoring: The Town is continuing the monitoring of the Cyanobacteria Blooms. A Citizens Advisory <br /> Letter was sent to all property owners around the ponds for awareness discouraging the use of fertilizers. <br /> Closure of Fiscal Year 2021: The Town Accountant is working on the closure of Fiscal Year 2021. <br /> COVID-19: The Delta Variant has been reported publicly publicizing awareness of the recent outbreak in <br /> Provincetown. <br /> Town Fireworks: The Town Fireworks display initially planned for July 1, 2021 has been rescheduled to <br /> September 18, 2021 with a rain date of September 19, 2021. <br />
