IV <br /> V <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 28, 2021 <br /> Update on Cyanobacteria Blooms in Mashpee-Wakeby and Santuit Ponds: DNR Director Ashley Fisher: <br /> (continued) <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to authorize the Town Manager to remit a Special Water <br /> Quality Alert to all residents to strongly discourage fertilizer usage. The Town will work to develop <br /> a communication plan that addresses the level of communication desired with the ability for citizens <br /> to sign up for notice, and further direct the Sewer Commission to develop a plan to restore water <br /> quality, and for consistency to coordinate efforts with the Towns of Barnstable and Sandwich, and <br /> direct the Board of Health Agent to conduct an assessment of septic systems that have not been <br /> maintained, to include the enforcement of Board of Health and Conservation rules. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman, yes Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Gottlieb, yes <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Opposed, none <br /> In closing this discussion, it was highly recommended that residents be vigilant to assist in the detection of <br /> Cyanobacteria blooms and any fish kill. Trace metals contribute to Cyanobacteria and elements from the <br /> proposed machine gun range may attribute to this concern. <br /> Discussion and Approval of Seasonal No Parking Designation on the Entry Road to the State Boat Ramp <br /> for Mashpee-Wakeby Pond Fisherman's Landing off of Route 130): <br /> Correspondence was received from Mary K. Bradbury,Recreation Director dated June 10, 2021 <br /> requesting approval of the seasonal No Parking designation along Entry Road,both sides to the State Boat <br /> Ramp(off Route 130). It was noted the State is supportive of the seasonal designation in this area. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the Seasonal No Parking designation on Entry Road <br /> to the State Boat Ramp. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Selectman Gottlieb, yes <br /> Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Opposed, none <br /> It was agreed a parking restriction of Great Neck Road South across from the boat ramp would be placed <br /> on the agenda topic for the next meeting. <br />
