Peak cumulative gap by Town (Mashpee renters) <br /> • Rental picture has fewer numbers, but that does not reflect need. The <br /> need is most pressing for people in the lower income category. <br /> • The biggest discrepancy between affordability and housing market value was with the <br /> 80% average median income group in 2015, and that continues to peak in 2025 <br /> projected. <br /> • Ms. Baker noted the category with the biggest jump into the problem zone is the 120% <br /> group. There is an appreciation of prices because of what second home buyers are <br /> willing to pay. Bylaws will need to change to expand on preexisting properties to allow <br /> for rentals without all these restrictions or multi-generational families and different types <br /> of housing.
