[Agenda topic 3] Haibormaster,News <br /> Discussion: Ashley Fisher was unable to attend the meeting but sent a report, Between early June and July <br /> 21',there were 7 citations written, Six of 7 violations involved PWCs either speeding in a no wake zone <br /> or operating in unsafe conditions. One involved and expired boat registration, <br /> The harbormaster has permission to dock a boat on the east side of the lake at a resident's dock in <br /> exchange for seasonal care of dock. This will allow faster access to the boat in an emergency <br /> The swim buoys to mark the swimming area around the three Wakeby islands have not arrived yet. <br /> Conclusions: Seven citations were written in the month. Wakeby swim buoys have not arrived yet. <br /> [Agenda topic 41Cyanobacterta in MW lake. bb- <br /> Discussion: Ashley reported There was no scum layer on the pond and cell count levels were acceptable, <br /> 263 in Mashpee and 1456 in Wakeby. The previous advisory was lifted in early July. Sampling will <br /> continue on Thursdays through early October. The town Manager also sent out letters to residents in <br /> Town requesting they eliminate the use of fertilizer to help protect water quality. <br /> Conclusions: The advisory against swimming and pets in Mashpee Wakeby Lakes has been lifted. <br /> [Agenda topic 5� Sewermg <br /> Discussion: Brian Howes make a recent talk to the Town about the poor water quality in the bays and how <br /> the ponds contribute as a source. The committee favors moving putting in sewers in the watersheds of the <br /> lakes up to Phase One and Mike will write a letter to that effect. <br /> Conclusions: Water quality continues to decline. Sewering of the pond areas should be accelerated. <br /> {Agenda Topic 6} Paul"B1bo <br /> Discussion: Don MacDonald made a motion to write a letter to the Selectman requesting they appoint <br /> Paul Bibo to this committee and Mike Rapacz seconded. The motion passed 3-0. Barbara will write the <br /> letter. <br /> Conclusions: Paul Bibo has been approved by committee vote, and Barbara will notify the Select Board. <br /> {Agenda Topic 7} Barnstable County Beach Water <br /> Testurg- <br /> ..:::..................... ..................... ..... .. ...................... .. <br /> Discussion: The Barnstable County site which displays results of E. coli and coliform bacteria testing in <br /> both salt and fresh water showed Attaquin Beach and Camp Farley areas both passed in the three July <br /> weeks following the lifting of the advisory for cyanobacteria on July7th. <br /> Conclusions: The bacteria levels have been acceptable the past three weeks since the Cyanobacteria <br /> advisory was lifted. <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 P.M. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Barbara B.
