PRE/POST-HEARING AGENDA: • Updates: o Childs River restoration Hopefully Carriage Shop Road is open this week. They're putting out seed mixes for the mitigation plantings and finalizing signage. There will be a revised trail system. Water was released and fish observed, likely minnows. o Red Brook Road culvert Nothing new to report, still waiting to hear about the DER Priority Project grant application. No recent complaints from abutters. Agent to attend upcoming Association meeting on 9/11/21 o Upper Quashnet restoration Data collection is still ongoing, they're close to the conceptual plan phase. o Bylaw Review subcommittee Agent sent out 3 versions of out Mitigation Regulation 12 to the commissioners. One is the existing regulation, one has proposed edits that the subcommittee worked on, and one is a clean version of what the final product will look like. The subcommittee will reconvene at a future date. The new Shellfish Mitigation falls under the parameters of the Bylaw/what the Commission can do. Once finalized, we put an ad in the paper for public comment, then promulgation at a public meeting. It's then added to regulations. o Sewer Substation Review Subcommittee (0 Mashpee Neck Rd) N/A o Johns Pond Milfoil We're in the final steps of submitting an NOI, we anticipate filing late August/early September. This qualifies for Appendix A — limited ecological restoration. o Chop Chaque Bog Horsley Witten installed monitoring devices to start data collection.We will have an onsite with MA State FWS In Lieu Fee Program and HW to go over the scope of work and what type restoration is best in this situation. o Discussion: Mashpee River habitat improvement-Joint meeting with Shellfish, DNR and Waterways There was a meeting with the Agent, Ken Bates, Peter Thomas, and Wayne Taylor. We want to have a discussion with Water Ways, Conservation Commission, and Shellfish Commission can sit down and brainstorm about what we can do to improve water quality. One thing that was brought up was the idea of focused-dredging to make sure shellfish propagation areas are
