..r
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR'S REPORT.
JANUARY 109 199
DATA INPUT:
Finished data input(developed and undeveloped) from both Planning and
Assessors documents. Checked with Paul on whether to input land codes 391,,
2, 441, and 442. All these uses are undevelopable commercial or industrial
lands and therefore were not entered. This could be further discussed by the
Committee. Deed to add in data such as zoning, zoning restrictions, owners
names, addresses, agents, phone numbers... with a little luck, I should be able
to wrap this up by the February l st deadline.
PRESS RELEASE:
The "welcome..." Press Release was seat out per our discussions. I plan to
continue with follow-ups this week. So far the release has produced the
following results:
I- The release was coordinated with the feature story in this Sunday's
Cape Cod 'Tines (picture at welcome sign and mention of Eli initiatives).
- WQRC Radio wants myself and Jim vacarro to do an in-studio
interview to be used for "Bob Seays CommunityCalendar" which airs
throughout the week and on Sunday morning,.
- Channel 11 News wants to do a tour of the Town along with
interviews. They are hoping to schedule something possibly this week...
Boston Globe will be keeping a close eye on our activities and could
quite possibly work up a story in the near future.,.
So far we have been receiving nothing but good comments on the article.
I suggest we discuss what topic we can develop for next months release.
UP-COMING TOUR:
Bob vhritenour would like to do the tour on January 17th at 2:00pm. we could
meet at Town Hall. we should probably discuss the tour sites prior to this date.
VP'There might be others interested in joining us as well. Bob - and myself will
provide transportation. -
GUIDE FOR BUSINESS:
Steve Innis delivered about 25 copies to businesses. I also left about 5 copies
with the Building Inspector to distribute when contact is made regarding
industrial and commercial development. No other copies have been
distributed...
INQUIRIES AND FOLLOW-UP:
I plan to find not the status of the Pilgrim Pride property status this week.
Also, I would like to mail out copies of the press release and Guide to recent
inquiries this week...
