i <br /> l <br /> Mr. Sullivan asked i the Economic Development Committee would go to <br /> the Selectmen's net meeting and support the project in conjunction with <br /> the Recreation Department# Tom told them that the Committee would <br /> d.is uss this as a Comrm*ttee and decide whether or not they would be willing <br /> to go on record of being in support of this project. <br /> Jamie expressed his concerns about installing a traffic'light and that he would <br /> e reluctant to support the installation of traffic lights in Mashpee. <br /> OTHER BUSINESS <br /> Because of the probl.'erns with attendance Toni had contacted as many <br /> members as possible and has received letters of resignation from Frank <br /> 'Fantasia, Spro �&trokostas, and. Eden Grosso. <br /> On March 15 the Chamber of Commerce will have a panel to discuss <br /> economic growth and development for the town and Tom has been asked t <br /> speak on economic development. Bob whritenour and Tom Fudala will <br /> also participate. <br /> Tom asked member to decide if they were comfortable taking a vote to make <br /> a recommendation that the Economic Development Comr ittee support the <br /> pr6ject proposed by Mr. Sullivan and Mr. Morton.orton. `Sid suggested that <br /> because Jamie represents Mr. Gavin there may be a conflict of interest if <br /> r Jamie supported the project. <br /> F <br /> Tom suggested that the mission of the Committee is to bring business into <br /> town to diversify the tax base. <br /> Jamie made the point that the issue is whether or not the Committee <br /> supports the idea of the project. <br /> Tom suggested that if they, as a Committee, have a problem with the <br /> wording of the proposal them they can get into the specifics of whether Gavin <br /> should be included in this package of spot zoning at a later slate, but they <br /> should now decide whether or not they support the integrity of the golf ` <br /> project- <br /> Nelson mentioned that he is in support of the basic concept of the.proposal <br /> but felt that he had concerns about ghat might happen down the road --once <br /> it's approved and they have the property in their hands can they make drastic <br /> changes. 4 <br /> Tom responded by swing that if these guys went financially "belly-up" the <br /> net person coming m , now that the ,coning is changed, can do whatever <br /> { <br />
