Minutes Mashpee Waterways Commission <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> Mashpee, MA 02649 <br /> Date: 8/10/21 <br /> Chairman Ken Bates convened the meeting at 9:07am in the Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> Attendees: Ken Bates, Don MacDonald,Tim Leedham,Al Wickel(phone),Gregg Fraser and <br /> Dick Noonan.Also present: Jeff Smith <br /> Absent:Steve Mone,,Ppm M�ld R� <br /> Minutes: <br /> The following minutes were approved:The regular session of Tuesday July 13,2021. <br /> Motion to approve made by Gregg Fraser and seconded by Dick Noonan. Unanimously <br /> approved by all those present. <br /> Appointments&Information Sessions: <br /> No report <br /> Communications&Correspondence: <br /> Nothing received. <br /> Old Business: <br /> Harbormaster Report:Jeff Smith reported that all is in good order from a navigational and <br /> water activity perspective. He did have a buoy marking a speed zone moved during the storm <br /> just prior to the July 4th holiday but that has been reset. He also noted an a boat hit a channel <br /> marker causing damage to the boat but none to the mark.The mark was determined to have <br /> been in its correct location.Jeff also noted that some normal shoaling has been noticed in the <br /> Popponesset entrance. Lastly, he reported that he new building is being used for maintenance <br /> while the drawings for the permanent layout are still being revised. <br /> DNR Director/Shellfish Constable Report:No report <br /> Committee Reports: <br /> Mashpee/Wakeby and John's Pond and fresh waters:Jeff Smith reported that the buoys <br /> needed to mark off the new swim area around the 3 islands within the Lake are on back order <br /> and he now plans to have them installed next spring.The Harbormaster will continue to patrol <br /> the area but without the buoys will not be able to enforce the new zone. <br /> Water Quality: Don MacDonald informed Ken and Ken reported that the testing season is <br /> going well.Only minor issues to deal with.The next schedule test date is 8/12.Also Dr. Brian <br /> I----, I IhA—- r)—+— +h--hio +—+I,-hfi-1 —R/lC—4—i-vi,i+..r.4-A <br />
