Agnew, RCA Electrical <br /> Contractors, Inc. requesting a Special Permit under §174-50 and §174-51 of the Zoning <br /> Bylaws to allow for a free standing sign on property located in an I-1 Zoning District, at <br /> 153 Commercial St., Map 88 Parcel 37, Mashpee, MA. <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter <br /> 40A.Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a newspaper of general <br /> circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on March 27, 2020 and April 3, 2020. <br /> The Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals issues this Decision pursuant to the provisions of <br /> Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A §9 and the Town of Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> Public Hearings were held virtually and remotely on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall <br /> on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at which time the following members of the Board of <br /> Appeals were present; Chairman, Jonathan Furbush, Vice Chairman, William Blaisdell, <br /> Board Members, Ron Bonvie, Scott Goldstein, and Norman J. Gould. <br /> Mr. Randy Agnew, the Owner of RCA Electrical Contractors represented himself for the <br /> sign project. He said there was an existing sign in front of his building from the former <br /> owners and he will be replacing it in almost the same footprint do be constructed with his <br /> business name and logo. The sign will be made out of white azek material and designed by <br /> the Day Sign Company located in Mashpee. The size of the sign is just about 27 sq. ft. <br /> Mr.Furbush read the Design Review meeting minutes of the sign project that was presented <br /> at the Design Review Committee back on March 3, 2020. <br /> Randy said he noticed that there are other signs in the area that are larger in size than what <br /> he will have constructed. It will be hand carved out of nice solid wood and not any larger <br /> than what existed prior. Randy said there are several signs that are larger located on <br /> Industry Drive. <br /> Mr. Goldstein said he has been in that neighborhood and noticed there are much larger <br /> signs than what is proposed. He wanted to know if the previous sign was approved. <br /> 1 <br />
