4 <br /> Mashpee Select Board <br /> Minutes <br /> November 15, 2021 <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Public Comment: None at this time. <br /> Discussion and Approval of 2020 Re-Precincting: Town Clerk Deborah Dami; <br /> The Mashpee Select Board reviewed communication received from Deborah Dami, Town Clerk dated <br /> October 29,2021 relative to the 2020 Re-Precincting. Due to a minor technicality with the precinct descriptions, <br /> the Select Board is required to re-vote the 2020 Re-Precincting Plan for the Town of Mashpee. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to adopt the 2020 Re-Precincting Plan for the Town of Mashpee as <br /> recommended by the Town Clerk. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Gottlieb, yes Selectman Cotton, yes <br /> Selectman O'Hara, yes Opposed, none <br /> As a result of the Decennial Census and the increased population congressional district boundaries will be <br /> adjusted. In the re-districting plan the Town of Mashpee will join the Towns of Falmouth,Bourne, a portion of <br /> Sandwich and Plymouth with State Senator Susan Moran representing. Senator Julian Cyr will continue to <br /> represent the Town of Mashpee until the adjustment is finalized. <br /> Convene Joint Meeting with the Town Seal Committee: <br /> Members in attendance include; <br /> Brian Weeden <br /> Terrie Cook <br /> Evan Lehrer <br /> Kathy Mahoney <br /> Patty DeBoer <br /> Joan Tavares-Avant <br /> Presentation Discussion and Possible Action on the Final Report of the Town Seal Committee: Town Seal <br /> Committee,Pierce-Cote Advertising: <br /> Members of the ad hoc advisory Town Seal Committee presented an overview of the history and its processes <br /> associated to the development of a draft Town Seal to the Select Board for consideration of an article <br /> on the May warrant for Town Meeting approval. <br /> Brian Weeden detailed the committee's objective and its processes of design used to solicit input from all <br /> Mashpee residents. Quantitative results of importance prioritized include the following; Wampanoag History, <br /> Plants/Animals, Water,Local Economy,Town History,Habitat/Landmarks,Buildings,Notable People and <br /> Other category. <br /> Evan Leher discussed the results of the survey with the Select Board. The top three priorities incorporated into <br /> the design include Wampanoag History/Symbols,Native Plants and Animals and Water and Water Bodies. <br />
