Review of Emergency Meeting on November 1, 2021 regarding Seaport Economic Grant
Mr. Holmes thought the grant was in our best interest as the Town will match the grant if approved. The
vote was unanimous to support the application.
Mr. McElligatt said Ashley Fisher had a short notice opportunity to write a grant to Seaport Economic
Council to get help and advice to update Mashpee's Harbor Management Plan. The grant would review
all issues regarding the waterways of Mashpee. It's based on the infrastructure of waterways, including
shellfish stocks and habitats. The deadline for the grant was before our November meeting, hence the
emergency meeting. In the future, we may be able to give the Chainnan the authority to send a letter of
support in a situation like this, rather than call an emergency meeting.
Mr. Thomas stated he would never sign a letter of support for anything without getting approval from
commissioners at an open meeting.
Mr. Christensen asked what he status of the grant application is now, Mr. McElligatt said it was submitted
11 /1 /21 and in the State's preliminary approval process.
