Meeting <br />notwithstanding the provisions o. Section 2.9.2 of the TownBY-Laws, <br />MOT ION TO ACCEPT PRINTS ... MO T 10N CA,R T R . - - <br />EXPLANATION: At the March 23, 1987 Special Town Meeting, Selectmen <br />were authorized to transfer to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mills a 40#000 square <br />foot lot of Town property along Route 28 near Madaket Place in ex- <br />change for the 40,000 square foot lot owned by the dills. This action <br />had been necessary because their home, which they believed wars located <br />n the land they own adjoining the Town -owned property, was found t <br />be on Town property instead. The March Special Town Meeting unani- <br />o sly approved the transfer; however, that motion failed to take. into <br />account Section 2.9.2 of the TownBy-Laws that states o land <br />acquired by the Torn through tax title proceedings shall be sold or <br />otherwise disposed of until it shall have first been determined by <br />vote at Town meeting whether hat said land shall be held by the <br />Town as conservation land . . . " 'his article -would correct the de- <br />fect in the March Special Town Meeting motion and allow the transfer <br />to take place. <br />Article 2 <br />To see if the Town will vote to ratify and confirm the action <br />taken under Article 5 of the July 1, 1985 Special Town Meeting <br />notwithstanding the provisions of Section 2.9.2 of the-TownBy-Laws, <br />MOTION TO ACCEPT AS SON CARRIES.O.000UNANIMOUS VOTE,�_..' � oK <br />EXPLANATION: The Special, Town Meeting on July 1, 1985 voted to permit <br />the Town to transfer to the Mashpee Housing Authority six acres of <br />land off old Barnstable Road to be used for publicly -assisted housing <br />for families. Like the prior article, the 1985 action failed to <br />address Section 2.9,2 of the TownBy-Laws, Article 2 would allow the <br />transfer of the six acres so that the Housing Athority could <br />
