For Map 1987 Annual Town Meeting Article To see if the Town will vote to authorize and direct the Board of Selectmen to acquire by purchase or by eminent domain for conservation purposes all , or a major portion, of a parcel of land of 3.6 acres., more or less, identified on the 1985 Mashpee Assessors ' Maps as Map 35, Plot 32 bounded on the west by Lovellss Lane, on the north by Forestriale Road Route 130 . and the land of the Mashpee Wampanoag Indian Museum, on the east by the Mashp a River and on the south by lands of the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife and now or formerly of Mary H, Potter, the said land to be held in the care and custody of the Conservation Commission, pursuant to General Laws Chapter 4 , Section 8 ; further, to see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum f money for such purpose, including expenses incidental and related thereto, and to raise such appropriation, the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be authorized to borrow a sure of money under and pursuant to Chapter 44, Section , and , if applicable, Section 8C, of the General Laws, or any other enabling authority, and to issue bonds or notes of the Town therefor with said bonding authorization contingent upon passage of a referendum to exclude the principal and interest on such debt from- the tax levy limitation imposed by Chapter 59, Section 21C of the General Laws -called Proposition 2 1 2 ; and further, to see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds a sum of money to the interest on Temporary Loans Account and a sum of money to the- i ssu�an e of Debt count; further, to see if the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen and/or Conservation Commission to apply for and accept Federal and/or State grants, including reimbursement under Chapter 132A, Section 11 of the General Laws, to be applied by the Town toward the financing 'of this purchase,, and to enter~ into contracts and agreements with Federal and/or State agencies,. private conservation trusts, or other entities or persons in connection with the purchase and preservation for conservation purposes of all or a major portion of such land; and finally, to see if the Town will authorize the Conservation Commission and the Board of Selectmen to eater i-nto agreements and execute any and all instruments as may be necessary on behalf of the Town to effectuate said purchase; or take any other~ action related thereto.
