For Map 1987 Annual Town Meeting <br /> Article <br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize and direct the Board of <br /> Selectmen to acquire by purchase or by eminent domain for conservation <br /> purposes all , or a major portion, of a parcel of land of 3.6 acres., more <br /> or less, identified on the 1985 Mashpee Assessors ' Maps as Map 35, Plot <br /> 32 bounded on the west by Lovellss Lane, on the north by Forestriale <br /> Road Route 130 . and the land of the Mashpee Wampanoag Indian Museum, on <br /> the east by the Mashp a River and on the south by lands of the <br /> Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife and now or formerly of <br /> Mary H, Potter, the said land to be held in the care and custody of the <br /> Conservation Commission, pursuant to General Laws Chapter 4 , Section <br /> 8 ; further, to see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum f money <br /> for such purpose, including expenses incidental and related thereto, and <br /> to raise such appropriation, the Treasurer, with the approval of the <br /> Selectmen, be authorized to borrow a sure of money under and pursuant to <br /> Chapter 44, Section , and , if applicable, Section 8C, of the <br /> General Laws, or any other enabling authority, and to issue bonds or <br /> notes of the Town therefor with said bonding authorization contingent <br /> upon passage of a referendum to exclude the principal and interest on <br /> such debt from- the tax levy limitation imposed by Chapter 59, Section <br /> 21C of the General Laws -called Proposition 2 1 2 ; and further, to <br /> see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from <br /> available funds a sum of money to the interest on Temporary Loans <br /> Account and a sum of money to the- i ssu�an e of Debt count; further, to <br /> see if the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen and/or <br /> Conservation Commission to apply for and accept Federal and/or State <br /> grants, including reimbursement under Chapter 132A, Section 11 of the <br /> General Laws, to be applied by the Town toward the financing 'of this <br /> purchase,, and to enter~ into contracts and agreements with Federal and/or <br /> State agencies,. private conservation trusts, or other entities or <br /> persons in connection with the purchase and preservation for <br /> conservation purposes of all or a major portion of such land; and <br /> finally, to see if the Town will authorize the Conservation Commission <br /> and the Board of Selectmen to eater i-nto agreements and execute any and <br /> all instruments as may be necessary on behalf of the Town to effectuate <br /> said purchase; or take any other~ action related thereto. <br /> Submitted by Petition <br />
