Also present: Ashley Fisher, <br /> Jeff Smith <br /> Absent: Steve Mone, Gregg Fraser, Tim Leedham <br /> Minutes: <br /> The Following minutes were approved:The regular session of Tuesday October 12, 2021. <br /> Motion to Approve: made by Dick Noonan, seconded by Ken Bates and unanimously approved <br /> by all members present. <br /> Appointments & Information Sessions: <br /> Ken reported that the contract for the Ockway Bay ramp replacement has been placed with <br /> Robert B Our Marine Division LLC. <br /> Communications &Correspondence: <br /> Ken Bates introduced a letter and WPA 1 form for a Request for Determination for a dock <br /> permit of an existing structure at 192 Ninigret Ave. <br /> Ken requested a vote of the Commission in support of a letter written by the Commission for <br /> the Town of Mashpee's Seaport Economic Council Program application. A motion to approve <br /> the letter was made by DonMacDonald, seconded by Al Wickel and unanimously approved by <br /> all members present. <br /> Ken referenced that we had received 2 BSC invoices. One was for support of the effort to <br /> identify the abandoned telephone cable in the 1916 Channel; the other was for work done on <br /> the LR/GR Expansion project. Both invoices were approved for payment by MWC. Ken also <br /> noted that he had approved payment to Steele Associates for their work identifying the cable. <br /> Jeff Smith asked Ken where the drawings and support documentation was kept. Ken stated <br /> that old file cabinets digitized and not sure where our old files are kept. Ken noted he would go <br /> to Terrie Cook for any documentation. Jeff and Ashley requested that DNR/Harbormaster <br /> receive a copy of this type of material for both backup and ease of access. <br /> Old Business: <br /> Harbormaster Report: Jeff Smith reported that all buoys have been removed and replaced with <br /> winter sticks with the exception of Popponesset Bay buoys #8 and #10. He also reported that <br /> in the spring he will move the location of some buoys to better mark the channel for boaters. <br /> Further the springtime buoy replacement project is underway and the Department is working to <br /> secure funding for the new marks. Ashley noted that both the cost and the lead times were <br /> going up. In fact the lead time for the new boat is 2 1/2 years. Don MacDonald asked what <br /> portion of the Bay is owned by Mashpee? Jeff responded that most of the Bay, up to almost <br /> the channel, was owned by Barnstable and they had control over matters in their waters. <br />
