Planning Board Members Present: Chairman Mary waygan, Clerk George Petersen,Dennis ) a.lzanni, David Iooharian Also Present: Tom Fudala-Town Planner, Charles Rowley-Consultant Engineer Abent: Vice Chair Joe Mullin APPROVAL TES January 4, 2012 and January 18, 2012 MOTION: Mr. Balzairini made a motion to accept the minutes of January 4ffi as 'Is. All voted unanimously, The Chair stated that the minutes for the 1 lashpee green Parks Subcommittee would be added to the Subcommittee's agenda, to be approved by the Subcommittee at a Future meeting_ Mr. Fudala noted that Doug Storrs received a copy of the draft minutes. Fudala informed the Board that the Town Clerk reported that there had been no appeals to Mashpee Industrial Realty LLC V s Special Permit 1 l di&ation. Board members signed the document. Applicant: Southport-on Cape Cod Development LIC Location: Southport retirement community, Phase III, Section 1 Request: Removal of 12 trees behind Building## 5 Chairman waygan read Southport's request to remove 12 trees located behind Building 2 . 1r. Fudala highlighted the new tree-procedures at Southport, which requires Planning Board approval to remove the trees. Rots Bonvie distributed plans and photos to members of the.Board 'Identifying the trees requiring removal. -Mr. Bonvie reported that the walk-around had been completed with Nor. Rowley and members of Southport's Landscape Committee. According to the policy, trees were identified prior to the construction oft the building. Should trees require eventual removal, a walk- around is-completed and approval sought from the Planning Board. Mr. Bonvie stated that the trees in question were primarily dead, although he made every effort to save them. Mr_ Bonvie stated that most of the root systems were within 3-5 feet of the building and that some limbs were hanging over the building. The tree count had been increased to 15.
