Board of Selectmen Minutes February 23, 2004 APPOINTMENTS NTS AND HEARINGS: Public Hearin —Capital Improvement Committee Report: (continued) CIP recommendations also include in the Department of Public Works,the purchase of a 10 wheel dump truck and a tractor/mower. It was noted that the Fire replacement utility vehicle would be assigned to the DPW. new pick-up truck for the Harbormaster is also considered in the CIP budget proposal. Town Counsel is expected to render an opinion regarding the potential use of Waterways Improvement funds to offset the costs associated to the purchase of the vehicle for the Harbormaster. The total CIP budget recommendation: excluding bond interest is$351,691. (enclosed) Discussion followed with respect to the importance of ongoing infrastructure finprovements and the general maintenance of all Town and School buildings. It was agreed that next year's budget would contain two separate line items under capital improvement. A line item would be designated for operating items,the other earmarked for major capital expenditures. Motion made by Selectman Alarsters to approve the F os Capital Improvement Program budget as presented. Motion seconded by Selectman Green. VOTE: Unanimous. -o. Public Hearin —VFW Liquor License continued from l 0 4: + Selectman Reveille stepped down for the above referenced Hearing. Selectman Green presided and opened the Public Hearing to continue discussions on the VFW application for a Club Annual All Alcoho l License. The Mashpee VFW Post 5489 has formally requested the Selectmen continue the liquor license hearing until Monday, March 15, 2004. The Town Administrator recommended the Selectmen grant this request with the understanding that a decision would be made on the license on March 159 2004 without further delay.
