Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> February 23, 2004 <br /> APPOINTMENTS NTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearin —Capital Improvement Committee Report: (continued) <br /> CIP recommendations also include in the Department of Public Works,the <br /> purchase of a 10 wheel dump truck and a tractor/mower. It was noted that <br /> the Fire replacement utility vehicle would be assigned to the DPW. <br /> new pick-up truck for the Harbormaster is also considered in the CIP <br /> budget proposal. Town Counsel is expected to render an opinion <br /> regarding the potential use of Waterways Improvement funds to offset the <br /> costs associated to the purchase of the vehicle for the Harbormaster. The <br /> total CIP budget recommendation: excluding bond interest is$351,691. <br /> (enclosed) <br /> Discussion followed with respect to the importance of ongoing <br /> infrastructure finprovements and the general maintenance of all Town and <br /> School buildings. <br /> It was agreed that next year's budget would contain two separate line <br /> items under capital improvement. A line item would be designated for <br /> operating items,the other earmarked for major capital expenditures. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Alarsters to approve the F os Capital <br /> Improvement Program budget as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. -o. <br /> Public Hearin —VFW Liquor License continued from l 0 4: <br /> + Selectman Reveille stepped down for the above referenced Hearing. <br /> Selectman Green presided and opened the Public Hearing to continue <br /> discussions on the VFW application for a Club Annual All Alcoho l <br /> License. <br /> The Mashpee VFW Post 5489 has formally requested the Selectmen <br /> continue the liquor license hearing until Monday, March 15, 2004. The <br /> Town Administrator recommended the Selectmen grant this request with <br /> the understanding that a decision would be made on the license on March <br /> 159 2004 without further delay. <br />
