Mashpee Economic Development Industrial Corporation (EDIC) Minutes – September 28, 2021 6:00 PM Popponesset Meeting Room Mashpee Town Hall Present: Carol Sherman, Pamela McCarthy, Robyn Simmons, Glenn Thompson Absent: Denise Duston, Patrice Pimental 1. Call Meeting to Order Carol Sherman opened the meeting at 6:02 p.m. 2. Approval of the minutes for July 27, 2021: Pamela McCarthy moved we approve the minutes, Glenn Thompson seconded the motion, The minutes were unanimously approved. 3. Treasurer’s report The EDIC’s checking account balance is $26,136.48 The money market account balance is $305,221.10. 4. Old Business Patrice Pimental sent in her resignation from the Housing Trust, Glenn Thompson was appointed. 5. New Business Carol Sherman shared some news regarding the update to the Local Comprehensive Plan. In 2020, Town Meeting authorized $150,000 to update town’s comprehensive plan. After posting the RFP, the Planning Board recommended to the Town Manager Weston and Sampson as the Board’s consultant to assist with the update to the Local Comprehensive Plan. After review of the best price, Weston and Sampson were offered the contract. On 9/27/2021, Evan Lehrer, the Town Planner, received the signed contract; the next step is to get the Town Manager’s counter signature and excute the agreement this week. Once that happens, Evan will set up kick off meetings, which he anticipates getting underway in the next couple of months. The plan update will likely take two years. . Following the execution of the contract, Evan will start kickoff meetings. One person from the EDIC should be in the audience for each of these kickoff meetings. The dates are to be decided. After Town Meeting we will authorize the money to paid for the feasibility study for the workforce housing project, likely in November.
