" Article #45 in <br /> the Warrant. <br /> ��� ►ry,. The Chairman recognized Ms. McCaffrey, who identified <br /> herself for the Record as Donna McCaffrey, stating she had <br /> submitted said Article by petition. She explained a 1994 Vote to <br /> remove a large portion of land from the Groundwater Protection <br /> � g <br /> District based upon the belief that zone II for the Holland Mill <br /> well to be smaller. She is now asking for protection of said <br /> Well in an attempt to protect the public supply of water. She <br /> introduced copies of letters from Cape Cod Commission, Mashpee <br /> 4 p p <br /> water District and DEP advocating said request for protection. <br /> The Chairman read (in part) the following letters: To the <br /> Planning Board from the Cape Cod Commission . . . in support of <br /> - ; the Article to amend the Groundwater Protection District, a large <br /> portion of the Zone II area for the Holland Mill well not <br /> included presently. As this well site is down gradient from <br /> + tiisq several existing and proposed industrial uses, adding this entire <br /> Zone II area to your Groundwater Protection District is strongly <br /> encouraged, . .Mass. Regs involving well head protection. . .District <br /> has to use its best effort to encourage the Town to adopt etc. . . , <br /> ��..� etc. . .by doing this we would meet that requirement. Mashpee has <br /> recently been faced with groundwater contamination problems from <br /> u; A.ugat and will continue to deal with plumes generated from the <br /> Base in order for the Mashpee water District to meet the current <br /> and future water demands, etc. , . it is prudent and necessary to do <br /> - ar li ii <br /> s` this. " "I urge your support of this.Amendment. " <br /> From DEP to Dave Rich, " . . .DEP is working with public water <br /> supplies, etc. . .etc. . .Town of Mashpee meets all but the floor <br /> drain requirements, etc. . . In addition, Mashpee' s Groundwater <br /> } Protection District Maps should be revised to encompass the <br /> ry i�tr; boundaries of the approved zone II for all the above referenced <br /> wells. . . Having <br /> attended the Cape Cod Commission Hearings on the development of <br /> � the Industrial Park, we have come to realize that the protection <br /> a i} everyone is seeking is identical to those that would be imposed <br /> by the overlay of Groundwater Protection District. Therefore, <br /> applying the District at this point should not impose any further <br /> restrictions on the Industrial Park.
