Mills Assessor's Map 65 Parcel 74 <br /> 65 Sakonnet Drive Certificate of Title: 187032 <br /> Mashpee, MA02649 <br /> A Petition was filed on May 28, 2010 by Steven M. Mills for a Variance from Section <br /> 174-31 of the Zoning By-laws to vary the front setback requirements and the side setback <br /> requirements to allow for construction of a covered porch on property located in an R-3 zoning <br /> district at 65 Sakonnet Drive (Map 65 Parcel 74) Mashpee, MA. <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws <br /> Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a newspaper of <br /> general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, June 4, and June 11, 2010, a copy of which is <br /> attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on June 23, 2010. <br /> The following members of the Board were present and acting throughout: Board Members <br /> Robert G. Nelson, Jonathan Furbush and William A. Blaisdell, and Associate Members Peter <br /> Hinden and Ronald S. Bonvie. <br /> The Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals issues this Decision pursuant to the provisions <br /> of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A §10 and the Town of Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> Mr. Dzmitry Mazheika of Belport Building &Remodeling, LLC represented the <br /> Petition. The home is a small summer cottage. Mr. Mazheika said that the proposed addition <br /> of the porch will be open-style and there are no future plans to enclose the porch. He said that <br /> several homes in the area have similar porches and are a beautiful improvement to the <br /> neighborhood. The proposal calls for construction of a porch measuring 8 feet x 26.5 feet. <br /> No comments were received from abutters. <br /> GENERAL FINDINGS: <br /> the subject property is located at 65 Sakonnet Drive and consists of 7,833 square feet of <br /> land. <br />
