Mashpee Zoning
Board of Appeals Minutes
• 4 February 13, 2008
refer to as building #22. The new building will consist of the post
office and some retail and office space The Building requires 48
parking spots and applicant is presenting 57 spaces. The Board
discusses parking problems that exist at the current post office and
how difficult it is to access that building, especially for handicapped
people. Mr. Storrs informs the Board that the post office mail boxes
will remain open until 11:00 pm for the convenience of the town. Mr.
Storrs also tells them that the retail will be something softer than
William Sonoma. Most deliveries will occur before 7:00 a.m. Two
handicapped spaces must be done within 300 feet of the front door.
Mr. Storrs will dedicate a third van accessible spot as well. This new
post office will greatly benefit the Town of Mashpee since Mashpee
has grown exponentially. After some further discussion, Jonathan
Furbush makes a motion to grant the Modification of the Special
Permit. Bob Nelson seconds the motion. All agree. So moved.
No comments were received from abutters.
VARIANCE
The applicant is petitioning the Board to re -locate the current
post office that resides in building #14 to a new building they are
proposing to build and will refer to as building #22 and needs
setback relief and parking relief.
