6
a
TOW' 01 KUH P E F January 8, 2007
Ti jt
'07 ,JAN -9 112 :24
To Whom It May Concern:
May, 1986,Mr. Leo Hallet petitioned the
ee Conservation Commission at 25 Monomos oy Rd Wes'to
build a pier on a 25' strip of land over the ma h located
Monomoscoy Island. The petition was denied (attachment 1).
May, 2005, Mr. Robert Stow of 8 Pine Ridge,Monomoscoy Island, employed Cape
and Islands Engineering to draw plans for a dock, ramp and float on the same property, 25
Monomoscoy Rd West, which he now owns.
May 24, 2005,Mr. Sanicki of Cape and Islands Engineering wrote to me, Kathryn
Wood, an abutter, asking me to sign a waiver of approval (attachment 2) because the project
fell within 15' of my property markers.do the same;Albert
both Mr.ton, an autter on the Lawton bnd I refused toper sie of
sign such a
the proposed dock,was asked
waiver.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawton and I have attended all of the Conservation Commission
meetings concerning this issue during the past year and a half. During this time, three
separate engineering plans have been proposed.
Last fall, 2006, the Conservation Commission passed the project.
Approximately 3 weeks ago,Little River Boat Yard began construction of the dock.
An illness of several months duration has kept me strictly limited to activity inside
the home. Now that I have recovered, I have begun to investigate this matter.
January 3, 2007, I spent time at the Mashpee Town Hall trying to get information`
concerning this project. The results are as follows:
1) Zoning Board of Appeals: Ms. Lori Corsi gave me a copy of a letter from Mr.
Sanicki to the Zoning Board, dated August 24, 2005 (attachments 3 and 4),
withdrawing without prejudice their application for a variance for the Stow
project; this was accepted. No further application has been requested.
2) Neither Mr. Lawton not I have ever been notified that the dock structure was
going to be built.
3) No DEP number has been posted.
4) Mr Steven Stolba of the Conservation Commission stipulated to me that no
I
vessel(s) would be allowed to teffier to pilings of the proposed pier. Mr. Stow
has two sea-doos and a fairly large boat.
u;
