V
•
Jobs -Whitings Trust
Friday, August 16, 2013
Mr. Jonathan Furbush, Chairman
Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals
16 Great Neck Road
Mashpee MA 02649
Dear Jonathan and Members of the Board,
Jabs -Whitings Limited Partnership would like to request an extension of the
Comprehensive Permit granted to Jobs -Whitings Trust on February 7, 2007 on
property located off Rt. 151 and Rt. 28 comprised of parcels shown as Map 73, Lot 10,
Map 74, Lot 34 and Map 74, Lot 20.
As you will remember, the Zoning Board previously. granted an extension to this
permit through April 2, 2014 so that it would be coterminous with the Planning
Board's Special Permit which also lapses on that date. However, due to the
challenges associated with reactivating a large 40B Comprehensive Permit granted
before the recession, we would like to request a further extension at this time,
through November 30th, 2014.
I have attached a copy of correspondence from Town's counsel, P. Costello,
pertaining to the previous extension, hoping that it may help with your consideration
of this request. Mr. Costello is fully aware of the current extension request herein.
Meanwhile, the Job's Whitings Limited Partnership will continue to energetically
move towards completing the requirements for our Final Letter of Approval from
MassHousing. Indeed, we remain optimistic that this may be accomplished by the
current deadline of April 2014.
Nevertheless, the need to have initial construction in place by permit deadline
combined with the time constraints of our New England building season creates a
situation that makes this extension essential.
We are gratified that strong support in the community continues for this project. We
look forward to many collaborative building seasons with the Town's Zoning and
Planning boards.
cc: Michael Ford Esq.
Joyce Mason
Douglas Storrs
trust
MASHPEE TOWN CLERK
AUG 19 2013
RECEIVED BY W C %
