Mashpee Zoning <br />Board of Appeals Minutes <br />3 April 12, 2006 <br />• Nancv Morev: Requests a Variance from Section 174-31 of the Zoning By-laws to seek <br />relief from the setback requirements to allow for an existing deck on property located in <br />an R-3 zoning district at 10 Seneca Avenue (Map 65 Parcel 1 19J) Mashpee, MA. <br />Sitting: Robert Nelson, Frederick Borgeson, Marshall Brem, Jonathan Forbush and <br />James Reiffarth. <br />Attorney Craig Martin represents the petitioner at this hearing. This matter was before <br />the Board a year or so ago but the ball was dropped and they did not pursue the matter. <br />Applicant would like to legalize the existing deck that was built before she bought the <br />house. The setback is 15 feet and the deck infringes on that. She is seeking a variance in <br />order to clean this matter up. Frederick Borgeson makes a motion to grant a 6.9 foot <br />variance on the northerly side and a 6.1 loot variance on the southerly side. Marshall <br />Brem seconds the motion. All agree. So moved. Mr. Nelson takes a roll call vote. Mr. . <br />Borgeson votes yes. Mr. Brem votes yes. Mr. Nelson votes yest. Mr. Reiffarth votes yes. <br />Mr. Forbush votes yes. Reference plans from Christopher Costa Associates, dated June <br />21, 2005. <br />Other Business: <br />Mr. Nelson would like to inform the Board that he has spoken to Ms. Mason. Town <br />is <br />Manager and intends to tender his resignation unless something is done regarding a <br />cartoon article that was printed in the April 7°i edition of the Mashpee Enterprise <br />seemingly to attack the integrity of the ZBA with its inference. The Board agrees that <br />this was a very insensitive article but that resigning and losing an important part of the <br />ZBA, is not the way to go.. Mr. Brem intends to speak with the Editor personally to see <br />what can be done. Mr. Nelson is adamant about the time he has spent and hours of <br />personal time lie has given. Mr. Forbush further agrees that this was unprofessional. <br />After some further discussion, Marshall Brenn moves to adjourrilhe meeting. Frederick <br />Borgeson seconds the motion.' All agree.
