Motion to dispense with reading of Article passes at 9:11 PM. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Carol Sherman. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to indefinitely postpone Article 18. <br /> Motion to indefinitely postpone passes unanimously at 9:12 PM. <br /> Article 19 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend the General By-laws by amending Chapter 172 — <br /> WETLANDS by adding the following new Subsection 172-5.A.4.: <br /> "4. In a riverine situation, the Conservation Agent shall notify the following of any alteration or <br /> relocation of a watercourse: <br /> a. Adjacent Communities <br /> b. NFIP State Coordinator <br /> Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation <br /> 251 Causeway Street, Suite 600-700 <br /> Boston, MA 02114-2104 <br /> c. NFIP Program Specialist <br /> Federal Emergency Management Agency, Region I <br /> 99 High Street, 6th Floor <br /> Boston, MA 0211017 <br /> or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by Planning Board and Conservation Commission <br /> Explanation: The Town has been notified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency that <br /> it must bring its by-laws into conformance with the requirements of the National Flood Insurance <br /> Program before June 16, 2011 or Mashpee will no longer qualify for participation in the Flood <br /> Insurance Program. As a result, this article and an accompanying zoning amendment article <br /> have been submitted as emergency articles, based on recommended language provided by the <br /> Massachusetts Division of Conservation & Recreation. <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends approval by a vote of 5-0. <br /> The Finance Committee recommends approval by a vote of 5-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Theresa Cook. <br /> Motion: I move that Article 19 be voted as printed in the warrant, with the exception of the <br /> phrase, "or take any other action relating thereto". <br />
