Town of Mashpee <br /> MASHPEE Z 16 Great Xeck load Arth <br /> �A� ��• ZONING BOARD OF APPEAL a� <br /> a �'lashpee, Massachusetts 02649 =l <br /> Decision for a Variance a <br /> RE: Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod V-00-121 99 Nathan Ellis Highway <br /> Map 67 Block 1 <br /> A Petition was filed on May 3, 2000 by the Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod for <br /> a Variance from Section 174-55 of the Zoning By-laws for permission to exceed the <br /> allowed signboard dimensions to allow for erection of signage on property located in <br /> an R-3 zoning district at 99 Nathan Ellis Highway(Map 67 Block 1)Mashpee, MA. <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General <br /> Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, <br /> a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on May 26 and June 2, <br /> 2000, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on <br /> Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at which time the following members of the Zoning Board <br /> f Appeals were present and actin throughout:r g Edward M. Govoni, Robert G. Nelson <br /> and Richard T. Guerrera. <br /> The Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals issues this Decision pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 40A, Section 10 and the Town of <br /> Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> Mr. David Hendrick, Board of Directors, represented the application and <br /> submitted photos of the aluminum sign that has already been installed on the subject <br /> property. The sign exceeds the allowed dimensions and is internally lit. Mr. Greg Taylor, <br /> Board of Directors, also attended the meeting. <br /> The Board agreed that the size of the sign is appropriate and complements the <br /> building. However, Town By-laws do not allow for the signage to be internally lit. <br /> No comments were received from abutters. <br /> GENERAL FINDINGS <br /> 1. that the subject property is located at 99 Nathan Ellis Highway. <br /> On June 14, 2000 the Board voted unanimously to grant a Variance allowing the <br /> applicant to exceed the signboard dimensions,to 6 feet by 18 feet. The Variance is <br /> conditioned upon removal of the existing internal lighting. <br />
