Mashpee Zoning Minutes—September 13, 2000 5
Board of Appeals
Mr. Govoni referred to the memo from the Board of Health that stated: "Although for *A
years the Board of Health and the Department of Environmental Protection have strongly
encouraged the owner of Lakeside Estates Trailer Park, William Haney,to connect the
park to town water, the Board of Health has no authority to require this connection
because the current well water is potable although be it unaesthetic due to high iron and Ol
frequent flushing. The trailer park residents, currently, have a legitimate concern over the 15
potability of their drinking water. With the introduction of potential groundwater
contamination associated with the siting of an auto body repair shop in their immediate q
neighborhood, their concerns would be heightened with reason, which the Board of
Health recognizes and shares". o
Mr.Nelson questioned the reason for two proposed buildings on the lot and said that it " C
w,.
Y
looks like an "end play trying to get two buildings in an area where we should really only
allow one". He said the frontage requirement is 200 feet, not 150 feet. ,
Attorney Mills said that at one of the Technical Review Committee the Planning Board
suggested that the Petitioner could purchase an additional one-acre lot to provide a
greater buffer between the proposal and the adjacent area. 'II'I.
jl
Mr. Luff stated that two buildings are allowed on the lot and that the buildings would be j
less than 10,000 square feet combined. }
Ian.t.MR1I1,, •1
Mr. Terry Carter of Lakeside Estates asked the hours of operation of the auto body shop.
