Mr. Govoni expressed concern with the large development of over 200
single-family homes on Meetinghouse Road. The Board discussed reducing the number
of proposed homes. Mr. Govoni suggested that trailer parks should be considered as part
of the Town's affordable housing.
:> Mr. Regan said that the Committee is working hard to be very creative in order to meet
the Affordable Housing percentages. Mr.Nelson reminded the Board of the Town
Counsel letter that said that the ZBA can deny the Petition, but that the State can over
t rule the ZBA and allow the project. Ms. Elizenberry informed the Board that the State
would not automatically penalize the Town. The Town must show that it is putting forth
a good and reasonable intent to meet the percentages of affordable housing. She said that
the Affordable Housing Committee has just been established and is in the process of
helping the Town to meet its obligations regarding Affordable Housing. Ms. Elizenberry
said that the State provides guidelines to determine what Affordable Housing is for each
individual town.
Meeting was adjourned at 10:35 P.M.
1.
i'
espectfully submitted,
d
Cynthia Bartos
Administrative Secretary
