Hughes SP-99-73 24 & 26 Quaker Run Road <br /> Map 83 Block 213 & Block 18 <br /> A Petition was filed on August 11, 1999 by Stephen L. Hughes of Centerville, <br /> Massachusetts for a Special Permit under Section 174-25.L9 of the Zoning By-laws for <br /> permission to construct a pier, ramp, float and stairway on Popponesset Bay on property <br /> located in an R-3 zoning district at 24 and 26 Quaker Run Road(Map 83 Blocks 213 and <br /> 18)Mashpee, MA. (Owner of record: Robert D. Fratus, Jr.) <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General <br /> Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a <br /> newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on September 3 and <br /> September 10, 1999, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on <br /> Wednesday, September 22, 1999, at which time the following members of the Zoning <br /> Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout: Edward M. Govoni, Robert G. <br /> Nelson and James E. Regan III. <br /> This Decision is issued by the Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 40A, Section 9 and the Town of <br /> Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> Mr. Regan announced that this is a Chapter 112 hearing. Both properties are in <br /> tax title. <br /> Mr. Slavinsky of Cape & Islands Engineering represented the applicant. The <br /> Conservation Commission,the Harbormaster and the Shellfish Constable have approved <br /> the project. Mr. Slavinsky stated that the Conservation Commission required the <br /> applicants to reduce the size of the proposed landing from 12x8 feet to 8x6 feet. <br /> Mr. Richard Days, an abutter residing at 39 Quaker Run Road, reviewed the plans <br /> and stated that he is also interested in constructing a dock on his property. He had no <br /> objection to the proposal. <br /> No other comments were received from abutters. <br />
