Town of Mashpee <br /> 16 Great Xeck Ppad Xorth <br /> Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649 <br /> BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> Decision for a Variance <br /> RE: Donald Hansen V-98-134 86 Blue Castle Drive <br /> Map 104 Block 15 <br /> A Petition was filed on August 26, 1998 by Donald Hansen of Mashpee, <br /> Massachusetts for a Variance from Section 174-32 of the Zoning By-laws for permission <br /> to construct a single-family dwelling on an unpaved road on property located in an R-3 <br /> zoning district at 86 Blue Castle Drive(Map 104 Block 15), Mashpee, MA. <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws <br /> Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a newspaper <br /> of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on September 25 and October 2, 1998, a <br /> copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof <br /> A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on <br /> Wednesday, October 14, 1998, at 7:30 P.M., at which time the following members of the <br /> Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout: Edward M. Govoni, James E. <br /> Regan III and Robert G. Nelson. <br /> This Decision is issued by the Mashpee Board of Appeals pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 40A, Section 10 and the Town of <br /> Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> Mr. Hansen represented his proposal to construct a two-bedroom single-family <br /> home. <br /> Mr. Govoni read a letter from Deputy Fire Chief Sheldon Hamblin concerning fire <br /> safety and emergency apparatus being able to reach homes on unpaved roads. He <br /> recommends that the Board of Appeals require all requests for Variances on new <br /> constructions on unpaved roads to install a National Fire Protection Association approved <br /> residential sprinkler system in the home. <br /> No comments were received from abutters. <br />
