Radford V-98-137 41 Surf Drive <br /> Map 103 Block 34 <br /> A Petition was filed on August 27, 1998 by Kevin and Marilyn J. Radford of <br /> Mashpee, Massachusetts for a Variance from Section 174-31 of the Zoning <br /> By-laws for permission to vary the sideline setback requirements to allow for <br /> construction of an attached garage to property located in an R-3 zoning district at 41 Surf <br /> Drive (Map 103 Block 34),Mashpee, MA. <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General <br /> Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a <br /> newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on October 9, 1998 and <br /> October 16,1998, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof <br /> A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on <br /> Wednesday, October 28, 1998 at which time the following members of the Board of <br /> Appeals were present and acting throughout: Edward M. Govoni, James E. Regan IH <br /> and Robert G. Nelson. <br /> This Decision is issued by the Mashpee Board of Appeals pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 40A, Section 10 and the Town of <br /> Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> Mr. Shawn Gilfoy, the builder for the project, and Mrs. Radford represented the <br /> application. Mr. Gilfoy submitted revised plans for the construction of an attached one- <br /> car garage. He indicated that the topography of the lot determined the location of the <br /> addition. He also stated that the applicant plans to use the garage for storage area as well. <br /> Mr. Govoni read a letter from Mr. and Mrs. Robert Connolly, owners of the <br /> vacant lot abutting the subject property, in opposition to the project. Mrs. Olive <br /> Granville, an abutter,wrote a letter in support of the project. Mr. Robert Benoit, a <br /> resident and the Connolly's son-in-law, expressed concern that the garage will be <br /> encroaching a few feet closer to the Connolly's lot line. <br />
