Town of Mashpee <br /> 3 � <br /> JVeck Y(oad JVorth <br /> BOARD OF APPEALS 16 Great AfashP ee Massachusetts 02649 <br /> Decision for a Special Permit <br /> RE: Deer Crossing Associates -World Gym- SP-97-06 681 Falmouth Road <br /> Map 81 Block 32 <br /> A Petition was filed on December 10, 1996 by Deer Crossing Associates on behalf <br /> of World Gym for a Special Permit under Sections 174-17 and 174-25.B.14 to allow the <br /> expansion of Building C at Deer Crossing with a 1,200 square foot addition to the second <br /> floor of the World Gym. The property is located in a C-1 zoning district at 681 Falmouth <br /> Road (Map 81, Block 32)Mashpee, Massachusetts. <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws <br /> Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a newspaper <br /> of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on December 20, 1996 and December 27, <br /> 1996, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Carol H. Jacobson Senior Center <br /> on Wednesday, January 8, 1997 and continued to February 12, 1997, at which times the <br /> following members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout: Edward <br /> M. Govoni, James E. Regan III and Michael A. Makunas <br /> This Decision is issued by the Mashpee Board of Appeals pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 40A, Sections 6 and 9 and the Town <br /> of Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> Attorney Robert F. Mills represented the applicant and reviewed plans for the <br /> addition of a second story on a portion of the building. He explained that the proposed <br /> use requires 5 additional parking spaces and that the complex has 302 parking spaces <br /> with 270 required. Comments were received from abutters questioning the ownership of <br /> some of the land used for parking at the upper level. A proposed new parking plan of the <br /> upper level was presented at the February 12, 1997 meeting which relocates the parking <br /> from the easement area in question should the need arise. Comments were received from <br /> the Fire Department stating that new construction include a fire alarm system connected to <br /> the central fire station. <br />
