Mills Jr. - V-96-16 Lake Avenue off Newtown Rd. <br /> Map 30, Block 142 <br /> A Petition was filed on January 16, 1996 by Elwood O. Mills, Jr. for a Variance <br /> from Section 174-32 of the Zoning By-laws to allow the construction of a single-family <br /> home on an unpaved road on property located in an R-5 zoning district on Lake Avenue, <br /> off Newtown Road in Barnstable. (Map 30, Block 142 -- formerly in Map 30, Block 59) <br /> Mashpee, MA. <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws <br /> Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a newspaper <br /> of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on February 9 and February 16, 1996, a <br /> copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on <br /> Wednesday, February 28, 1996 at 7:30 P.M. at which time the following members of the <br /> Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout: Edward M. Govoni, James E. <br /> Regan III and Cheryl A. Hawver. <br /> This Decision is issued by the Mashpee Board of Appeals pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 40A, Section 10 and Section 174-32 <br /> of the Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> Mr. Mills represented his application and informed the Board that the land has <br /> been in his family since 1945 and that his parents had built a home there in 1955. He <br /> explained that the property has been subdivided and that three homes are now located on <br /> the land and he plans to build a single family home on a 2.045 acre parcel. <br />
