V <br /> Town of Nashpee <br /> V <br /> 16 Great JVeck qtoad JVorth <br /> Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649 <br /> BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> Decision for a Special Permit <br /> RE: Sandalwood Village Association/New Seabury Co. - SP-96-62 <br /> A Petition was filed on September 18, 1996 by the Sandalwood Village <br /> Association c/o New Seabury Co. for a Special Permit under Section 174-54H of the <br /> Zoning By-laws to allow two signs of 10 square feet each at the entrance to the <br /> Sandalwood subdivision at the intersection of Great Neck Road South and Amos Landing <br /> Road. The site is located on an Open Space Easement under the Declaration of <br /> Sandalwood Doc. #1993337. <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws <br /> Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a newspaper <br /> of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on September 20, 1996 and September 27, <br /> 1996, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Carol H. Jacobson Senior Center <br /> on Wednesday, October 9, 1996 at 7:30 P.M. at which time the following members of the <br /> Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout: Edward M. Govoni, James E. <br /> Regan III and Cheryl A. Hawver. <br /> Albert Valentino of the Sandalwood Village Association represented the applicant <br /> and informed the Board that the original sign at the entrance had been reduced to 10 <br /> square feet and a second sign of 10 square feet installed on the opposite side of the <br /> entrance to comply with the Zoning By-laws. He explained that the new signs would <br /> improve the visibility of the entrance from both directions on Great Neck Road South. No <br /> comments were received from abutters. <br />
