Brooks Jr. SP-95-26 15 Sturgis Lane <br /> Map 20, Block 27 <br /> A Petition was filed on February 15, 1995 by Thomas W. Brooks Jr. of Falmouth, <br /> Massachusetts for a Special Permit under Sections 174-17 and 174-25.H.6 of the Zoning <br /> By-laws to allow the expansion of a garage. The Building Inspector has recommended the <br /> transfer of living space from an existing cottage to a garage on property located in an R-5 <br /> zoning district at 15 Sturgis Lane (Map 20,Block 27)Mashpee,MA. <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws <br /> Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a newspaper <br /> of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on March 3 and March 10, 1995, a copy of <br /> which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on <br /> Wednesday, March 22, 1995 at which time the following members of the Board of <br /> Appeals were present and acting throughout: Edward M. Govoni, Kenneth E. Marsters <br /> and Robert G. Nelson. <br /> This Decision is issued by the Mashpee Board of Appeals pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 40A, Section 6 and Section 174-17 of <br /> the Town of Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> Dr. Brooks informed the Board that he had received a Special Permit to <br /> reconstruct an existing cottage, remodel a home and construct a garage on his property. <br /> He said that the Building Inspector had recommended that the living space in the cottage <br /> be transferred to a second floor apartment over the garage and that the cottage be moved <br /> and used as a storage shed. He stated that the Board of Health had approved a septic <br /> system for six bedrooms which would accommodate both living dwellings. The Board <br /> requested drawings of the proposed apartment which Dr. Brooks provided. <br />
