U= Irobon of ftla gbpee
• 16 GREAT NECK ROAD NORTH
m y
MASHPEE, MA 02649
BOARD OF APPEALS
Decision for a Special Permit
Re: John I Trotto - SP-95-57 58 Quaker Run Road
Map 90, Block 47
A Petition was filed on August 15, 1995 by John I Trotto of Mashpee,
Massachusetts for a Special Permit under Section 174-2519 of the Zoning By-laws for a
130' pier, ramp and float in Shoestring Bay on property located in an R-3 zoning district
at 58 Quaker Run Road (Map 90, Block 47) Mashpee, Massachusetts.
Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws
Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a newspaper
of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on August 25, 1995 and September 1,
1995, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on
Wednesday, September 13, 1995 at 7:30 P.M. at which time the following members of the
Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout: Cheryl A. Hawver, Kenneth E.
Marsters and Robert G. Nelson. The Hearing was continued on September 27, 1995.
This Decision is issued by the Mashpee Board of Appeals pursuant to the
provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 40A, Section 9 and Sections 174-24
and 174-25.I.9 of the Town of Mashpee Zoning By-laws.
Engineer John Hunter represented-the applicant and informed the Board that the
shallowness of the water in the area required the 130' length on the pier. Comments were
received from an abutter opposed to the length of the pier since it would interfere with his
ability to sail in the cove. The Board was informed that the Harbormaster was opposed to
the length of the pier and suggested that the Applicants meet with the Harbormaster
before the next continued hearing on September 27, 1995 No additional information was
supplied to theBoard at the September 27, 1995 hearing.
