"j, '"• <br /> 0 <br /> Also present: Tom Fudala, Town Planner; Eric Smith, <br /> Assistant Town Planner. >Oe <br /> yy 6 <br /> 'iN 4: <br /> Town of Mashpee <br /> Shellfish Department i �� a <br /> j', <br /> l <br /> As the first order of business, the Chairman recognized ' lit , <br /> Richard York, Shellfish Constable, for the purpose of presenting w <br /> Mashpee River Study Donation Account Agreement Update. <br /> Rick informed the Board that he had researched the ' IL <br /> possibility of more specific testing for identifying problems <br /> and that the best method available at this point is the Fecal <br /> Coliform Bacteria Tests. There are other tests available, but ;" a «� <br /> they are in the research stages . Copies of the original Mashpee r A!; �- <br /> River Study Donation Account Agreement prepared ten (10) years <br /> ago were provided. Said agreement provides for studies of water A ' ,�10 <br /> quality and written proposals for remediation. He informed the .I <br /> Board that an interim K.V. study had done a shoreline survey <br /> identifying all the points where water enters the River. Rick <br /> suggested doing a shoreline survey finding the current points, k. <br /> ;. "<► ,�p <br /> sampling those for the Fecal Coliform Bacteria, submitting a <br /> grant proposal to the state and remedy any identified problem <br /> areas. He informed the Board that the state has a $4 million <br /> Costal Pollutant Remediation Program (CPR Program) available over <br /> the next five (5) years. He proposed this be done incrementally, <br /> sampling all points once or three times at a cost of supplies— <br /> $1, 000 . 00, <br /> upplies- -$1, 000 . 00, as opposed to a year long study. t -41111 �, <br /> 'q <br /> 'Air. <br /> Reference was made to number 4 of said Agreement by Tony ►� �„ <br /> and it was agreed that Rick' s proposal was within the scope of �,'" ' <br /> the Agreement. The Board was in agreement as to Rick' s suggested „;�! �.• ;p' <br /> approach of this matter.
