Nra OHa\3
Cabin of Alubpee
16 GREAT NECK ROAD NORTH
MASHPEE, MA 02649
BOARD OF APPEALS
DECISION
FOR A SPECIAL PERMIT
RE: William S. Ricci for a Special Permit SP-93-69
A Petition was filed by William S. Ricci of Mashpee, Massachusetts
for a Special Permit under Section 174-17 of the Zoning By-laws for
permission to expand a non-conforming dwelling with a first floor addition
in an R-3 zoning district on property located at 3 Shore Drive (Map 112,
Block 96) Mashpee, Massachusetts.
Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts
General Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The
Enterprise, .a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee
on August 20 and August 27, 1993, a copy of which is attached hereto and
made a part hereof.
A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town
Hall on Wednesday, September 8, 1993 at 7:30 P.M. at which time the
following members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting
throughout: Michael A. Makunas, Edward M. Govoni and Jamie Regan.
Mr. Ricci represented his Petition and informed the Board that
he wished to enclose an area of the first floor to accomodate a
laundry. No comments were received from abutters.
The Board determined that the proposed expansion would not
be more detrimental to the neighborhood than the existing non=.
conforming use. The Board found that the use was in harmony
with the purpose and intent of the zoning ordinance and complied
with the provisions therein.
Upon motion duly made and seconded the Board of Appeals voted
unanimously on September 8, 1993 to grant the Special Permit.
The Permit is referenced by plans of Cape 6 Islands Engineering
dated July 29, 1993.
