Partnership for a Special Permit SP-93-89
` A Petition was filed by Fields Point Ltd. Partnership for a
Special Permit under Section 174-51.D of the Zoning By-laws for
permission to erect a temporary 4' x 16' sign in a C-1 zoning
district on property located at 39 Nathan Ellis Highway, (Map 74,
Block 22) Mashpee, MA.
Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts
General Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The
Enterprise, a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee,
on September 24 and October 1, 1993, a copy of which is attached
hereto and made a part hereof.
A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town
Hall on Wednesday, October 13, 1993 at 7:30 P.M. at which time the
following members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting
throughout: John J. Friel, Michael A. Makunas and Edward M. Govoni.
John Renz represented Fields Point and informed the Board that
the site of the future Stop & Shop store was being cleared and the
owners wanted to have a large sign advertising space for rent. The
sign design had been approved by the Design Review Committee.
The Board determined that the use was in harmony with the general
purpose and intent of the by-laws and that the proposed size was
appropriate to the site. Upon motion duly made and seconded the
Board of Appeals voted unanimously on October 13, 1993 to grant
the Special Permit. The placement of the sign will comply with
zoning regulations.
1 ,
