MA 02949 <br /> BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> RE: Cheapo Depot for a Special Permit SP-92-47 <br /> A Petition was filed by Cheapo Depot, Inc. of Hingham, Massachusetts <br /> for a Special Permit under Sections 174-25.E. 1 and 174-43 of the Zoning <br /> By-laws for permission to operate a retail store in a C-2 zoning district <br /> on property located at 628 Main Street (Map 13, Block 47) Mashpee, <br /> Massachusetts. <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts <br /> General Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The <br /> Enterprise, a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee <br /> on June 5 and June 12, 1992, a copy of which is attached hereto and <br /> made a part hereof. <br /> A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town <br /> Hall on Wednesday, June 24, 1992 at 7:30 P.M. at which time the <br /> following members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting <br /> throughout: John J. Friel, Michael A. Makunas and Edward M. Govoni. <br /> Attorney Richard Dyer represented the applicant and explained <br /> that the property had been purchased at auction and that the first <br /> floor would be used for retail sales. Robert Tavares, the contractor <br /> for Cheapo Depot, stated that the contract for the completion of the <br /> parking lot had been signed and the work would be completed within a <br /> week. Mr. Dyer informed the Board that the basement area would be <br /> used for storage and the unfinished second floor might be used for <br /> office space in the future. Comments were received from residents <br /> of the area expressing concern with the traffic which might occur. <br /> The Board determined that the use is in harmony with the purpose <br /> and intent of the By-laws and complies with the provisions therein. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded the Board of Appeals voted <br /> unanimously on June 24, 1992 to grant the Special Permit subject to <br /> the following conditions: <br />
