Taylor <br />Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Sherman at 6:30 p.m. <br />Mashpee Town Hall, Waquoit Meeting Room <br />MINUTES <br />Monda Februa w2, 2022 Re, nlar„Session: <br />Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the Regular Session minutes of Monday, <br />February 2, 2022 as presented. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Sherman, yes <br />Selectman Cotton, yes <br />APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br />Public Comment: <br />Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Gottlieb, yes <br />Selectman O'Hara, yes Opposed, none <br />Wendy Williams, Simmons Narrows Road commented on a petition article she sponsored <br />proposed to instruct the Select Board to replace no later than (3) months from the date of Town <br />Meeting the current shoulder patch worn on Mashpee Police Department uniforms with the newly <br />adopted Town Seal. <br />Ms. Williams indicated this is an agenda topic of discussion whereby the Select Board has the <br />ability to accept this recommendation. In doing so, Ms. Williams as lead petitioner would take <br />the petition off the May 2, 2022 warrant. <br />An additional petition article is proposed to authorize the Select Board to acquire, by purchase, gift, <br />eminent domain, or otherwise for conservation, open space and recreation, the Trout Pond area to <br />protect natural resources. Ms. Williams indicated she is willing to un-sign the petition if the Select <br />Board authorizes the start of conversations with the property owner. <br />Chad Smith of Quinaquisset Avenue submitted a petition for the May warrant to instruct the Select <br />Board to immediately address the growing burden of onerous property tax increases on low and <br />moderate income properties by adopting a split tax rate exempting year-round residents. <br />
