<br />MASHPEE CULTURAL COUNCIL <br />MINUTES NOVEMBER 9, 2021 VIA ZOOM <br /> <br />PRESENT: Nina Cocomazzi, David Egel, Winnie Graham, Bill Nay, Mary Alice Stahleker, Andrea Watson, <br />Janet Wright. No visitors signed into Zoom. Missed: MaryKate O’Brien. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order by Andrea Watson at 10:06 a.m. A quorum was determined present. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The minutes of the January 13, 2021 meeting were unanimously APPROVED on motion by J. Wright, <br />seconded by D. Egel. <br /> <br />TREASURER’S REPORT <br />N. Cocomazzi noted that the Annual Report due the Massachusetts Culture Council is available for viewing <br />online. For FY 2021 $350 was not reimbursed. The available grant funds for FY 2022 is the state allocation of <br />$5600 plus the $350 for a total of $5950. Other FY 21 funds allocated are encumbered through the end of this <br />calendar year. The report was unanimously APPROVED on motion by D. Egel, seconded by J. Wright. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />N. Cocomazzi reported that in line with past practice she had sent past applicants a notice that applications were <br />being accepted fir FY 2022. This apparently was effective as the number increased from 3 to 31. The committee <br />confirmed its approval of this process as well as notices being sent to newspapers, FaceBook, TV and radio. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />The Mashpee Cultural grant requirements were reviewed, and decision process discussed. Each of the <br />thirty-one (31) grant applications totaling $23,607 was reviewed. <br /> <br />On motion by D. Egel, seconded by N. Cocomazzi, it was unanimously VOTED by all present to approve grant <br />requests in the amount of $5,950. All were unanimously voted by those present as noted in the attached and <br />made a part of these minutes. A. Watson recused on #28. <br /> <br />A.Watson and N. Cocomazzi will notify those whose applications were denied. The applicants have 15 days to <br />request reconsideration. Acceptance notifications will be sent by end December 2021 and projects must be <br />completed by December 31, 2022. <br />B. Nay tendered his resignation as he will be moving from Mashpee. The committee expressed their <br />disappointment and wished him well. A suggested replacement will submit paperwork to the Select Board. W. <br />Graham and D. Egel will contact the Select Board for appointment to a new term. J. Wright will be in touch <br />with another prospect. <br />Business being completed, the continuation of the meeting scheduled for tomorrow is not required. <br />The council set December 8, 2021 at 10:30 am via Zoom for its next meeting. <br /> <br />ADJOURN <br />On motion by D. Egel, seconded by B. Nay, it was unanimously VOTED to adjourn.
