3 <br /> Mashpee Select Board <br /> Minutes <br /> March 21, 2022 <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Discussion and Approval of the Following Special Events and Temporary Sign Permit: <br /> Heroes in Transition Ruck4HIT Pass Through April 29—April 30 2022 4:30—7 am& 11 — 1:30 pm: <br /> Nicole Spencer: <br /> Selectman John J. Cotton a participant in the annual Heroes in Transition Ruck4HIT race discussed the proposed <br /> event scheduled to be held in the Town of Mashpee on Friday,April 29, 2022 from 1:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m. <br /> on Saturday,April 30, 2022. This is a 220-mile relay race over a 36-hour period. It is also requested the Select <br /> Board approve up to 24 directional signs, 18"x24"at various locations along the identified route. Applicable <br /> regulatory agencies have signed off on the application with stipulations imposed by the DPW as outlined in the <br /> memorandum of March 16, 2022 regarding this event. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the Special Event Application of Heroes in Transition for <br /> the annual Ruck4HIT relay race within the Town of Mashpee as detailed to include the Temporary Sign <br /> Permit Application as referenced. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Opposed, none <br /> Santuit Pond Bass Fishing Tournament May 21 2022 6 am—2 pm: Cabin Fever Bass Club -Brian LeBrun: <br /> The Select Board was in receipt of a Special Event Application from the Cabin Fever Bass Club to host the <br /> Santuit Pond Bass Fishing Tournament on Saturday,May 21, 2022 from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. <br /> Correspondence was received from Ashley Fisher,Director of Natural Resources dated March 21, 2022 not <br /> recommending any fishing tournaments on Santuit Pond due to the potential presence of cyanobacteria bloom. <br /> Levels exceed the Department of Public Health advisory thresholds and exposure could cause health related <br /> issues. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to unfortunately accept the recommendation of the DNR Director and <br /> decline the Special Event Application of Cabin Fever Bass Club due to current pond conditions sending <br /> a letter to the applicant explaining the reasoning for the denial. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Selectman Gottlieb, yes <br /> Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Opposed, none <br />
