<br />MASHPEE COMMUNITY GARDEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE (MCGAC) <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />March 16, 2022 7:00 P.M. <br />*Virtual/Remote Meeting* <br />Public Call-In for Comments (646) 558-8656 <br />Meeting ID 869 8659 3646 and Passcode 881527 <br /> <br />PRESENT Virginia Scharfenberg, Sheryl Carberry, Frank Gallello, John Carter, Lynn Harris <br />CALL TO ORDER Chairwoman Scharfenberg called the meeting to order at 7:18 pm. <br />Meeting Minutes for February 16, 2022 –Tabled until next meeting. <br />COMMUNICATIONS and CORRESPONDENCE – none to report <br /> <br />REPORTS <br /> Community Preservation Act funding proposal for expanded community garden: Select <br />Board approval for Warrant Article number to be finalized as ‘Special Town Warrant Article <br />14’ at their 3/21/22 meeting. <br /> Status of 2022 renewal applications and Wait List finalization: Virginia will confirm the <br />number of renewals and the order of Wait List candidates 2020-March 24, 2022 for discussion <br />at 3.25.22 lunch gathering at Sheryl Carberry’s home where components of digital list <br />preparation will be discussed and determined. This will be ongoing list of relevant contact <br />information, active community gardeners in current 20 plots and eventually the 14 new plots, <br />and people willing to share their plot, etc. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Gardeners who have indicated willingness to share their 12’ x 8’ bed. Virginia will have that <br />information available for 3/25/22 gathering. <br /> Itemize 2022 educational programming and materials for 2022 gardeners: Board postponed <br />further discussion until after our 3/25/22 gathering and confirmation of who 20 gardeners will <br />be for this season. We will likely start with informal gathering at the garden in early April <br />“Welcome Back to the Garden” and go from there. <br /> Status of Barnstable County Mobile Farmers Market: Andrea Marczely notified us that the <br />planned mid-March opening has been postponed for a bit due to delay in getting SNAP <br />purchasing authorization. <br /> Report on Cape Cod Community Gardens that have had success with on site composting: <br />Virginia has not made the calls but will do so prior to next Board meeting. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
